Abstract
The study aimed to identify the role of business intelligence technologies in
improving the quality of health services in government hospitals in the Kingdom of Saudi
Arabia. The study used the descriptive causal approach. The study population consisted
of employees in government hospitals in the Al-Jawf sector, which number five hospitals
and have approximately (4800) employees from various medical, administrative and
technical departments. A convenience sample consisting of (191) individuals was
selected, and the study instrument was a questionnaire, the validity and reliability of
which were verified , Statistical analysis was conducted using the Statistical Package for
the Social Sciences (SPSS).
The study concluded that there is a high level of application of business intelligence
(BI) technologies in government hospitals. All dimensions (database management
systems, data analysis, interactive reporting and dashboards, and data integration) were
found to be at a high level. The quality of healthcare services in government hospitals in
the Al-Jawf region was also found to be high. The results showed a statistically significant
effect (p < 0.05) of BI technologies, across all dimensions (database management
systems, data analysis, interactive reporting and dashboards, and data integration), on
improving the quality of healthcare services in government hospitals in the Al-Jawf
region.
The study recommended the following: developing and updating medical database
management systems in government hospitals; promoting the use of health data analysis
tools and technologies within government hospitals; incorporating BI technologies into
the strategic plans of the Ministry of Health and government hospitals; and allocating
clear budgets for developing the supporting technological infrastructure.
