Abstract
This project aims to address the influence of hybrid working arrangements on employee performance and job satisfaction in the financial services sector. The pandemic accelerated the adoption of hybrid and remote working arrangements across organisations, which have transformed the way organisations operate and employees work. The research objectives of this study place an emphasis on analysing the influence of hybrid working arrangements on employee performance and satisfaction and approaches for enhancing employee performance and satisfaction within such arrangements. To address the research objectives, an extensive literature review was conducted encompassing an overview of the hybrid working model; employee performance and job satisfaction; the correlation between the hybrid working model, employee performance, and job satisfaction; and approaches for enhancing employee performance and satisfaction in hybrid working arrangements.
A quantitative research method was adopted in which data collection was performed using a survey questionnaire. Research participants were selected using the random sampling method and typically included professionals and employees working in the financial services sector in London, UK, specifically those working as a part of a hybrid model. The survey was sent to 150 people, of which 112 completed the survey. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS and encompassed correlation analysis and standard deviation as well as linear regression, as these assist in recognising relationships between employee performance, job satisfaction, and hybrid working arrangements. The data analysis results clearly indicated a positive relationship between these three factors. The study contributes to the limited literature available on the impact of hybrid working arrangements on employee performance and job satisfaction in the financial services sector and aims to help organisations, industry professionals, researchers, and students to better understand the implications of hybrid working arrangements, their challenges, and how to improve them. The study also includes a discussion, recommendations, and future research section.
