Abstract

The study aimed to identify the attitudes among teachers of intellectual education towards vocational programs offered to persons with intellectual disabilities at the secondary level and to identify the variable impacts of experience, scientific qualification, and gender on these attitudes. The study tool was a measure of teachers' attitudes towards vocational programs for secondary students. The study used the survey descriptive curriculum, and the sample of the study consisted of 203 special education teachers and teachers in intellectual education institutes and integration programs in ordinary schools in Qassim. There were 110 male teachers and 93 female teachers. One of the most important findings of the study was that teachers had a positive trend towards vocational programs for secondary students with intellectual disabilities in vocational programs and centers. The study also found statistically significant differences in the attitudes of intellectual education teachers toward vocational programs offered to secondary students based on years of experience for teachers with years of experience in higher education. The study indicated that there were statistically significant differences in the attitudes of intellectual education teachers towards vocational programs offered to secondary students with different educational qualifications for highly qualified teachers (bacheor's and master's degrees). The study also indicated that there were statistically significant differences in the tendencies of intellectual education teachers towards vocational programs offered to secondary students, with different sex variables in favor of female teachers.
