Through comparison of the two Arabic translations of Chinua Achebe's English novel Things Fall Apart, and the strategies that have been employed by the translators Ahmad Khalefah (1990) and Sameer Nassar (2002). The study starts with an explanation of the strategies of translation, in particular domestication and foreignization .This paper also examines the strategies and methods the translators use in translating cultural references. This study also analyses the cultural elements that are found in the novel in relation to Newmark (1988) division of culture categories.
