This shift entails the development of a value-based healthcare system centred on population health. The Saudi Ministry of Health is overseeing this transformation, but challenges persist in translating strategy into action. The failure rate for strategy implementation is reported to be as high as 90%. By conducting comprehensive literature review, this research study examines the crucial role that strategic leadership can play in bridging the gap between strategy formulation and execution. The study highlights the importance of communication, collaboration and a conductive organisational culture in the successful execution of a strategy. Practical recommendations are made to enhance strategic leadership competencies and align organisational structures with strategic objectives.
