Primary research will involve conducting structured interviews with a master Intarsia artisan, desingers, as well as Saudi governmental personnel to gather firsthand perspectives on the challenges, opportunities, and motivations behind integrating innovative engineering systems. Additionally, Virtual ethnographic techniques will be employed to observe the practice of Intarsia craftsmanship within their workshops, and test virtual studio initiatives while engaging with artisans in co-creation and problem-solving. Secondary research will include Real-world examples and case studies of successful projects, which will be analyzed to understand the effectiveness and implications of reimagining ancient Islamic crafts within modern contexts and global dialogues. Another method would involve comprehensive literature review and content analysis of relevant scholarly literature and publications to provide theoretical frameworks and contextual insights. Through these mixed-method approaches, the study aims to offer a nuanced understanding of the role of innovative engineering in reviving Intarsia craftsmanship, and the opportunities unlocked through this review. This review explores the "innovative engineering systems" encompassing a range of modern technologies and techniques applied to the traditional craft of Intarsia woodworking. This includes advancements in joinery methods, and fabrication processes that enhance the craft's efficiency, flexibility, and structural integrity. The term "revival" refers to the process of breathing new life into a craft that may have faced decline or stagnation, while "re-imagination" involves exploring new creative possibilities and applications for the craft within contemporary contexts. By employing innovative engineering systems, the review seeks to preserve the cultural heritage embodied in Intarsia while also adapting it to meet the demands and challenges of the modern world.95enGovernmental supportHeritage preservationwomen empowermentSocial valuenational identityCommunity cohesionCultural tourismmodernizationsustainabilityInnovationPreservationTraditional craftsmanshipglobalizationintarsiaReimaginingAncient Islamic craftsInnovativation and technological advancementsContemporary contextsCross cultural understandingHeritagecultural preservationinnovative engineering systemsWhy Use Innovative Engineering Systems to Reimagine, and Revive the Ancient Islamic Craft Intarsia?Thesis
