Polymers and recently functional polymers represent the largest and most promising class of biomaterials. The proposed project will deal the study of polyester synthetic biomaterial chemically and physically grafted with a prepared functional polymer. Firstly we will study the influence various parameters involving in the specific grafting process such as temperature, time of curing and concentration of elaborated polymer. Then we will characterize the treated biomaterial to evaluate the efficiency of our functionalization. Spectroscopic, X-ray diffraction and thermal characterizations will be investigated aiming to prove the presence of our functionalization by infrared and TGA/DTA measurements. After the hydrophilicity effectiveness of grafted bio-materials will be studied by evaluating the wettability behavior. In addition, mechanical properties will be investigated. Then morphology and mode of grafted surfaces will be determined by SEM observations. Finally biological effectiveness of functionalized bio-materials will be assessed.75enCharacterization of Polyester Materials Grafted with Functional PolymerThesis
