It interacts, among others, with syntax, semantics, morphology, pragmatics, and lexicology. Despite the complexity of the subject, it continues to be an important part of research in linguistics, drawing attention to the intricate and nuanced aspects of languages. There is a wealth of literature on this topic. However, most previous studies have tended to focus on the core aspects of the phenomenon rather than the idiosyncratic ones, which, up to date, have not received proper attention from researchers in the field, especially in the field of modern linguistics. Hence, this thesis aims to contribute to the growing understanding of the phenomenon by exploring two idiosyncratic topics in Najdi Arabic (NA) subject-verb agreement: the agreement of verbs with plural controller subjects and the agreement of verbs with enumerated controller subjects. Each of the two topics will be described with sufficient data. In addition, this thesis attempts to present a theoretical account of the structure of each topic within the framework of Head-driven Phrase Structure Grammar (HPSG), which is one of the main non-transformational theories in generative syntax.يعتبر التوافق اللغوي، الذي يسمى أيضا التطابق والمطابقة بين عنصرين لغويين أو أكثر أحد مواضيع الأبحاث الثرية في علم اللسانيات. ويتداخل هذا الموضوع مع عدة علوم لغوية مثل علم التركيب وعلم الدلالة وعلم الصرف والتداولية وعلم المعجم. وعلى الرغم من أنه موضوع معقد ومبهم في الكثير من جوانبه، إلا أنه ظل يشكل جانبا لغويا هاما وجاذبا للاهتمام والسعي لمعرفة الكثيرعن خفايا اللغة. ويوجد العديد من الدراسات السابقة التي تناولت هذه الظاهرة، إلا أنها بالغالب تركز على جوانب التوافق والمطابقة الأساسية، أما مواضيع التوافق التي تعكس غرابة وغموضا في تفاصيلها اللغوية، فلم تحظ بذات الاهتمام خاصة في علوم اللغويات المعاصرة، ولهذا السبب تهدف هذه الأطروحة إلى المساهمة في دراسة ظاهرة التوافق من خلال موضوعين يتسمان بالغموض والتميز في التطابق اللغوي في اللهجة النجدية، وهما الأسماء المجموعة والمعدودة. وتسعى هذه الأطروحة لتقديم وصف للجوانب اللغوية والنحوية لكل من هذين الموضوعين مع تقديم أمثلة وبيانات لغوية توضيحية، وأيضا سيكون هناك محاولة لتقديم تحليل نحوي للتركيبة اللغوية لكل موضوع باستخدام واحدة من نظريات النحو التوليدي الحديثة المعروفة باسم قواعد تركيب الجملة المبنية على العامل.(HPSG)91enagreementsyntaxsemanticNajdi ArabicHPSGgenerativeThesis
