There are various types of diabetes, and each of them cause inconvenience in everyday life. There are numerous traditional methods used to measure the glucose concentration in the blood, however, such methods could be hard to adapt to since they are mostly invasive or partially invasive. In this project, a system is proposed in which it provides diabetic patients with a tool to measure and monitor the glucose concentration in the blood with internet of things functionalities (IoT). The system will measure the glucose concentration non- invasively using an oximeter sensor, then a calibration curve will be obtained using regression methods. The internet of things functionalities will allow the user to connect the system to 4G, hence eliminating the need for Wi-Fi. Moreover, the IoT module will add the functionalities of sending texts and obtaining accurate GPS locations using the GNSS functionality. An SMS text will be sent to the emergency contact when abnormal readings are measured, and which will include the reading and the current location of the patient. Finally, a phone GUI app and a Raspberry Pi GUI app were developed which are linked to a cloud database service. The phone app will act analogously to a logbook where all readings are stored and could be accessed any time. The Pi app provides the user with an easy and functional user experience.enIoT Application for Measuring Glucose Levels for Diabetics
