Such mistakes become part of medical culture, which affects thousands of patients in the Middle East. In the Middle East, thousands of medical errors happen annually. These medical errors lead to various negative results—from mild to severe. This must be addressed by implementing appropriate, reliable, and effective strategies to be implemented in the hospitals. The purpose of this narrative review is to examine the research literature on patient safety strategies to decrease errors and improve patient safety in the Middle East. Six themes are identified in the review: promoting patient safety culture, collaboration between health care professionals and patients with their families, medical error reporting, use of electronic health records, integrated teamwork, and role of nurses in patient safety. These themes also serve as the strategies in reducing medical errors in the hospitals. These strategies are applicable to the Middle Eastern hospitals because they do not require complex models and procedures. Instead, they are part of the standardized system, guidelines, and protocols in every hospital that practitioners need to reconsider and re-evaluate.enPatient safety strategies to decrease medical errors and improve patient safety in the middle east
