This thesis delves into the multifaceted issues enveloping the greyhound racing industry, from historical practices to contemporary challenges, aiming to unravel the diverse perspectives, arguments, and concerns that fuel the ongoing controversy. Through a comprehensive, library-based methodology, this study unravels the intricate dynamics of the industry, highlighting the implications for the welfare of racing greyhounds(Bond et al., 1996). Following the aftermath of the RTE documentary, an even more critical lens is applied, further probing the then-exposed realities of the industry. This rigorous investigation will critically assess whether the greyhound racing industry should be preserved or abolished by leveraging the broad range of evidence and perspectives gathered. Ultimately, the thesis aims to furnish valuable insights and informed conclusions and contribute to the existing knowledge on greyhound racing.
