Item Restricted An Intelligent System for Proactive Accident Hotspot Detection and Prevention (TBC)(Cardiff University, 2024-01-18) Alotaibi, Faisal; Li, TingtingRoad accidents are a significant problem in many nations all over the globe, and they are the cause of a significant number of deaths and injuries each year. Finding high-risk regions so that suitable steps may be implemented to enhance road safety is one of the most difficult tasks involved in lowering the frequency of accidents. This is one of the most significant issues. Within the scope of this project, we plan to develop a system that is able to monitor accident hotspots by utilizing a variety of data sources.42 0Item Restricted Anxiety and Depression in Multiple Sclerosis (MS): A Longitudinal and Cross-Sectional Study Using HADS, Demographics, and Clinical Data from the UK MS Register(Saudi Digital Library, 2025) Alotaibi, Faisal; Middleton, RodAim: to examine the prevalence, course, and predictors of anxiety and depression in people with MS using longitudinal data from the UK MS Register (UKMSR). Methods: The study involved 12,395 participants who submitted 96,939 repeated evaluations on the Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS) from 2011 to 2023. Descriptive statistics compiled baseline, most recent, mean-per-participant, and peak scores across multiple sclerosis subtypes (RRMS, SPMS, PPMS). At baseline, correlations between HADS-A and HADS-D were analysed. We used linear mixed-effects models to look at how symptoms changed over time while taking into account gender, age at diagnosis, education, employment status, and disease duration. Results: Depression increased gradually over time (+0.14 points/year, p < 0.001), whereas anxiety declined (−0.04/year, p < 0.001). At baseline, nearly half of the participants scored in the clinical range, with 50.9% above the cut-off for anxiety and 40.5% above the cut-off for depression. More than 70% of participants crossed the clinical cut-off (≥8) at least once during follow-up. Severe depression was most frequent in progressive forms (PPMS 17.3%, SPMS 14.5%), while severe anxiety was more common in RRMS (20.9%) during the follow-up. Anxiety and depression were strongly correlated at baseline (ρ = 0.61). After adjustment, subtype effects weakened, and education and employment emerged as the strongest predictors: being sick or disabled was associated with +3.3 points for depression and +1.8 for anxiety compared with those in active work, while postgraduate education predicted lower scores (−1.3, −1.4, respectively). Conclusion: Anxiety and depression are common in MS, but they change in opposite ways over time. Social determinants, especially education and employment, accounted for greater variance than MS subtype, highlighting the necessity for integrated psychosocial support in MS care.19 0Item Restricted Factors Influencing Guest Satisfaction in Service Organizations: A Narrative Systematic Literature Review(César Ritz University, 2024-03-18) Alotaibi, FaisalThis study aims to investigate prior academic research and clarify the threads of consumer satisfaction in the context of automation and robotics in hotels and tourism where the integration of technology and human service forms a complicated pattern. Deepening the understanding on digital customer interactions is essential because, as it progresses more and more into this digital age, strategies and activities in digital marketing get more and more important for happiness of customers, especially in the Saudi Arabia where things can change quickly and rapidly. To address the complexity of this study, the study makes the use of a narrative systematic literature review. It is designed to perform research in a systematic approach using Scopus database that include the list of all the present research that explains the digital marketing's role on improving customer satisfaction in service industries, particularly Saudi Arabia. The final outcome of narrative systematic literature review search revealed 18 papers that are most relevant to the research topic. One of the main findings of the study is that digital channel of marketing is no longer what customers perceive. Through research, that digital channels such as websites, online media and online booking platforms are the main factors shaping guest understanding of the hospitality and his perceptions. Increasingly, hotels and tourism businesses are using up these routes to build a network, inform their customers about their services, and allow reservations. That ultimately has a direct effect on satisfaction levels of users. In addition, the study underlined the presence of reviews and user-created contents as prime forces that control customer perception and buying behavior. The emergence of platforms like TripAdvisor and Yelp has indeed enabled consumers to promote their experience and opinions to so many other travelers by just writing a review on a platform. The second key theme is that digital technology usage and innovation of hotel facilities have been accelerating as there are customers who place the sensitively for comfort and satisfaction. Another aspect of the research was the fact of data analytics, segmentation, and the customer insights in digital marketing plan development that makes production of better products and service to the customers. Another finding of the research that was made was that digital marketing is the most important thing in attracting more customers as well as boosting client engagement and client loyalty34 0Item Restricted Reforming Jointly Owned Property in Line with Saudi Vision 2030: Socio- legal Lessons Learned from English Commonhold and South African Sectional Title(Saudi Digital Library, 2025) Alotaibi, Faisal; Sarah, Singh; John, PictonThis thesis critically examines how Saudi Arabia’s Jointly owned property law and practises can be reformed to support Saudi’s 2030 housing development plan, which aims to increase home ownership in the country. Due to space restrictions and overcrowding in densely populated areas, jointly owned property is key to realising this objective. However, this thesis outlines several challenges, including inadequate legal awareness about JOP, disputes and enforcement issues, currently impede this aim, leading to an increasing demand for reforms. To address these challenges and propose appropriate reforms, this thesis adopts a comparative socio-legal methodology that brings insights from comparative doctrinal analysis into conversation with those insights gained from interviews with owners/lawyers conducted in Saudi Arabia, South Africa, and England. Employing grounded theory for data analysis, themes emerged from the data, highlighting commonalities of best practices across the jurisdictions and also the need for a locally tailored governance framework due to different cultural norms. The analysis highlights gaps in the regulatory framework itself as well as enforcement and awareness for Saudi owners and tenants. To further examine the challenges for local unit owners and tenants, the thesis adopts Saudi-specific case studies. The case studies also highlight the impact of all reform proposals put forward throughout the thesis.9 0
