Item Restricted Understanding and Addressing Communication Challenges in the Construction Industry in Saudi Arabia(UNIVERSITY OF STRATHCLYDE, 2024) Alruwaili, Mohammed Hameed; Makhmadshoev, DilshodThe goal of this study is to better understand the communication difficulties that the rapidly expanding Saudi Arabian construction industry has due to its very ethnic workforce. Construction projects require effective communication to be successful, but there are many obstacles in the way, including regulatory complexity, cultural diversity, language hurdles, and hierarchical organizational structures. This research reveals important communication issues and their effects, such as project delays, increased errors, and budgetary overruns, through a survey of professionals in the Saudi construction business. The results show that the biggest hurdle is language problems, which are made worse by the diverse workforce and frequently result in misunderstandings and confrontations. Significant obstacles are also presented by regulatory difficulties, especially in light of the constant modifications and ambiguous standards that exacerbate compliance inefficiencies and delays. The study suggests a number of mitigating techniques to deal with these problems. The best strategies are determined to be enhanced organizational structures, standardized project management procedures, and stakeholder training initiatives. It is also advised to use cutting-edge technology, such Building Information Modeling (BIM), to improve mistake reduction and communication effectiveness. The study also highlights the necessity of multilingual skills development and cultural sensitivity training in order to overcome linguistic and cultural obstacles. This study provides a thorough grasp of the communication dynamics within the Saudi Arabian construction sector, adding to both the academic literature and useful solutions. By tackling these issues, the sector may enhance project results, cut down on delays, and promote a more cooperative workplace, all of which will eventually help to sustain the continued growth of Saudi Arabia's construction industry.114 0
