Item Restricted Integration of Digital Twining in Automotive Project Management: Opportunities and Challenges(Saudi Digital Library, 2023-11-29) Althurwi, Fawaz; Marjanovic-Halburd, LjiljanaThe integration of digital twinning in automotive project management is examined in this project, focusing on the opportunities and challenges of doing so. Using a comprehensive literature review process, relevant study articles were gathered. Data from a range of subject fields, including case studies, thorough literature reviews, reports on practical experience in industry, surveys, and mixed-method studies, were included in the review. A total of 22 articles were analysed using thematic analysis, offering perceptions into practical applications, and combining existing knowledge in the field. The findings highlight the potential benefits of digital twinning, such as improved operational efficiency, predictive maintenance, enhanced product quality, and optimised procedures. However, challenges related to security issues, data integration complexity, and technological enhancements need to be addressed. The study provides recommendations on how to maximise benefits and overcome obstacles using strategies and good practices including data security measures, standardised guidelines, corporation, technology adaptability and speed. The auto industry may reach a new level of efficiency, production, and innovation through the digitisation of twinning as well as appropriate handling of related challenges. Future research should focus on practical implementation and assessing the long-term influences on productivity and cost-effectiveness. Moreover, exploring synergies with emerging technologies like AI and block chain can deliver additional insights into the future of automotive project management. This integration positions the automotive industry at the forefront of the digital revolution, confirming its competitiveness and sustainability in the evolving landscape.
