Item Restricted The Social Factors Predictive of the Neglect and Abuse Experiences in Childhood, and Behavior Disorders among a Sample of Intermediate School Female Students(Qassim University, 2024-05-29) Alduwayghiri, Rina Khalid A; الدويغري، رينا بنت خالد بن علي; عبدالعليم، أحمد مجاورThe current study aims at identifying the predictive social factors of abuse and neglect experiences in childhood and behaviour disorders for a sample of intermediate school female students. The researcher adopts the descriptive approach (i.e. correlational-comparative). The study sample includes a random sample of 340 female students in Qassim region, aging between 13-15 (M= 13.87, SD= 1.052). The research instruments involve a scale for measuring the social factors that explain experiences of abuse and neglect designed by the researcher, a scale for measuring the experiences of abuse and neglect by Abdelaliem (2017), and a scale for measuring of behavior disorders by Gado and Abdelaliem (2020). The findings reveal that the level of female students’ exposure to abuse and neglect experiences is low in all three forms of abuse, i.e. physical abuse, psychological abuse, and neglect). In terms of the abuse and neglect experiences levels in the three kinds and the demographic variables, the results indicate a statistically significant difference in the level of experiences, neglect, to the mother’s educational level variable solely, whereas no statistically significant differences are found in the abuse and neglect experiences levels to the other variables (α ≤0.05). The results of the regression analysis also show that social factors, i.e. patterns of parenting, family events and experiences, and relationships with peers, are able to predict the level of experiences of abuse and neglect in childhood at statistically significant levels, whereas the events and experiences in the primary school are not able to contribute to the prediction. Moreover, the regression analysis indicate that social factors, i.e. family events and experiences, school events and experiences in the elementary school, are able to predict the level of behavior disorders at statistically significant levels, whereas the patterns parenting and the relationships with peers do not contribute to the prediction (α ≤0.05). In addition, a statistically significant positive correlation (α ≤0.01) is concluded for each dimension of abuse and neglect experiences, i.e. physical, psychological, neglective, and behavioral disorders among the study sample. The results show no difference as well between abused and non-abused students and the behavioural disorders at a statistically significant level (α ≤ 0.05). However, a statistically significant difference is found between abused and non-abused students in behavioural disorders, i.e. socially inconsistent behaviour disorder and bullying.59 0
