| dc.description | The process of developing and completing my dissertation, which explored the financial sustainability challenges facing SMEs in Saudi Arabia, was a multifaceted academic journey. It involved selecting a research topic, conducting a literature review, designing a methodology, collecting data, analyzing results, and synthesizing findings. The undertaking stretched across numerous months, characterized by alternating surges of independent study, structured discussion with my supervisor, rigorous compliance with ethical standards, and the inherent uncertainties tied to gathering primary data. I blended semi-structured interviews with carefully curated secondary datasets, all stitched together through iterative rounds of interpretation and verification. My motivation remained tightly aligned with the larger mission, namely to furnish the SME sector in Saudi Arabia—aligned to the milestones of Vision 2030—with targeted, empirically grounded guidance on bolstering financial resilience over the medium and long term. | |
| dc.description.abstract | This study examines the determinants of financial sustainability among Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Saudi Arabia, guided by the national economic transformation agenda under Vision 2030. Integrating the Resource-Based View (RBV), Institutional Theory, and Risk Management Theory, the research investigates how internal capabilities, the institutional environment, and risk management practices influence financial sustainability. Primary data were collected through a structured questionnaire from 211 SME owners and managers across various sectors. The quantitative dataset was analyzed using SPSS, applying reliability analysis, correlation tests, and multiple linear regression. | |
