In this process, the research will seek first to answer the following secondary research questions: 1) How has cybercrime prosecution in Saudi Arabia been since the passage of the Anti-Cyber Crime Law? Has the statute been effective in curbing cybercrime in the Kingdom? 2) What kind of evidence is admissible in a court of law in Saudi Arabia by public prosecutors to prove the existence of a cyber-extortion? 3) What is the level of public awareness of cyber security regulations and laws protecting them against cyber extortion in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia? 4) What specific statutes and legislations outline how cyber extortion in the Kingdom is supposed to be handled, including the process of reporting, evidence collection, and court procedures? 5) What is the responsibility of social networking sites in ensuring that no data breach might be used for cyber extortion in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia? 6) What mechanisms describe social networking sites’ liability regarding cyber extortion as applied to Saudi Arabia's experience? 7) Does the profit-privacy trade-off weaken existing statutes and policing efforts in Saudi Arabia?
