In the local area, Brisbane City Council has in the past 25 years installed traffic calming devices. It was during these years that Brisbane City Council obtained mixed reviews of traffic calming measures from local residents whose opinions indicated that there are supporters of the traffic calming measures and also opponents. Through these matters, the Brisbane City Council is working on more research and studies on traffic calming devices and their effectiveness. This project was intended to reduce the volume of traffic and reduce the speed of street vehicles by determining the effectiveness of traffic calming measures.
