dc.description.abstract | A new method to solve for the propagation constant of open coupled microstrip transmission line is presented. The technique is based on reciprocity theorem coupled with an optimization procedure to approximate, the current distribution along the conducting strip. The technique proves to be quite effective with considerably less numerical efforts compared to other methods. The propagation constant results are almost identical to data available in the literature. Due to the nature of the reciprocity theorem, a crude approximation of the strip normalized current distribution is also obtained. | |
