In this research starch graft copolymers were synthesized by free radical polymerization process using potassium persulfate and sodium bisulfate as initiators. Reaction conditions and monomer/initiators ratio were investigated to produce graft copolymers with various molecular weights. Different factors were studied to obtain the optimum grafting conditions. It was found that St-g-DAA produced using water bath gave higher percentage of graft (15.6%) than that produced by ultrasonic waves (9.3%)
