Abstract

Abstract The outbreak of COVID-19 has impacted New Zealand companies from mid-March 2020. It has a negative impact on the company’s financial performance. New Zealand companies have effectively reported the impact which the COVID-19 pandemic has on their businesses. The primary aim of this research is to address the main ways in which New Zealand’s companies are reporting the impact of COVID-19. This research has identified the primary industries which have been impacted most in New Zealand due to the effect of the pandemic. It also categorizes the disclosure in company reports regarding the impact of COVID-19. This research also identified the key measures which help the companies surviving the outbreak of coronavirus. The other measures which companies implement for protecting their businesses from being impacted by the pandemic have also been incorporated in this research. This research also assessed the extent to which COVID-19 has influenced New Zealand economic condition by disturbing the financial stability of its companies. The company’s main performance drivers during the pandemic have also been determined in this research.
