Item Restricted A 4D ULTRASOUND IMAGING AUTOMATION PLATFORM FOR MODELLING AND ASSESSMENT OF ULTRASOUND TARGET DYNAMICS USING DIRECT VISUAL SERVOING AND MACHINE LEARNING(Saudi Digital Library) EZZAT OMAR A ABUAZZAH; Professor Christian Langton5 0Item Restricted A Bidirectional Evolutionary Structural Topology-Optimization (BESO) for 3D-Printed FRPs(Saudi Digital Library, 2023-05) Alabdulwahab, Abdulaziz; Hadigheh, AliThis thesis explores structural topology optimization methods in the context of 3D-printed fibre-reinforced polymers (FRPs). While topology optimization has gained significant attention across various engineering industries, its application to anisotropic materials, such as FRPs, is still in its early stages and requires more exploration. This thesis develops a novel approach that considers the anisotropy of the material and optimizes the material orientation alongside the topology optimization. The proposed method incorporates material direction optimization in conjunction with topology optimization to achieve minimum compliance. The material optimization analytically obtains optimal orientation angles to attain maximum internal energy values. The topology optimization, on the other hand, optimizes the material distribution to get maximum stiffness under prespecified constraints. By concurrently optimizing the material distribution and its orientation, the proposed approach harnesses the potential of controlling the fibre orientation in 3D-printed FRPs and produces designs with enhanced stiffness and reduced weight. The results of the thesis demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach through numerical simulations and experimental testing. The optimized designs produced by the proposed approach exhibit improved performance compared to conventional isotropic topology optimization or hybrid methods.40 0Item Restricted A Case Study and Comparison of ICT Use in Higher Education between a Saudi(Saudi Digital Library) Fahad, Alenezi4 0Item Restricted A case study examination of the influence of cultural diversity in the multicultural nursing workforce on the quality of care and patient safety in a Saudi Arabian hospital(Saudi Digital Library) Adel, Faza Almutairi2 0Item Restricted A Cohesion Analysis of Scientific Papers Written by Saudi Students in an Australian University(Saudi Digital Library) Bandar, Alshammari; Supervisor: Dr. John Walsh2 0Item Restricted A cohort study of adhesion-related readmission risk following abdominal surgical resections in NSW, 2005-2010(Saudi Digital Library) ali abdullah m alyami; Professor Marc A Gladman0 0Item Restricted A comparative Analysis of Arab-American Intellectuals’ Texts(Saudi Digital Library) Fadiah , Alshehri2 0Item Restricted A comparative cultural study of women living with Multiple Sclerosis in Saudi Arabia(Saudi Digital Library) MARIAM ABDULAZIZ M TARKISTANI; A.rof.grham0 0Item Restricted A Comparison of Credit, Liquidity and Operational Risk Management in Islamic and Conventional Banks: Evidence from Saudi Arabia(Saudi Digital Library) MAHFOD MOBARAK N ALDOSERI; Professor Andrew Worthington6 0Item Restricted A Comparison of Interval Estimators for The Median(Saudi Digital Library) WADHA MOHAMMED T ALANAZI; A/Prof Luke Prendergast1 0Item Restricted A COMPREHENSIVE EVALUATION OF COMPLEX INTERVENTIONS IN HEALTH: INFORMING DECISION MAKERS(Saudi Digital Library, 2022) Alabbasi, Khalid Hishmet Abdul Moin; Kruger, Estie; McGeachie, John; Tennant, MarcModel of Care has been designed in Saudi Arabia to improve health outcomes for the population alongside the rationale of allocating financial resources. This Model of Care based on six “systems” of care (keep me well, planned care, maternity care, chronic care, urgent care, and end of life care) and delivers 42 integrated interventions that cut across all systems of care. Thus, the key aims of this thesis are to comprehensively evaluate the impact of reform efforts on different models of health care delivery in Saudi Arabia, using a comprehensive hospital database from one site (King Abdullah Medical Complex in Jeddah city, Saudi Arabia) that implemented the Model of Care. The obtained data were analysed to assess whether King Abdullah Medical Complex was able to: 1) reduce the emergency department visits; 2) improve health outcomes in patients receiving home healthcare services; 3) reduce the average length of stay in hospital; and 4) improve the health referral system. An additional set of data on the population distribution and the primary healthcare centre’s locations of Jeddah Second Cluster–Jeddah city were obtained from open-access web-based sources to investigate the spatial accessibility of the existing primary healthcare. Data analyses revealed that the number of cases attending the emergency department significantly decreased following the introduction of the urgency transfer policy. In Home Healthcare, three significant explanatory variables of mortality [age, having a major diagnosis (diabetes mellitus, cerebrovascular diseases, and bedridden), and having more cancelled visits] were identified. In addition, the findings suggested that the number of patients admitted to the hospital were far greater after the bed management initiative began than before it was implemented. Introducing e-referral systems has improved scheduling, decreased variation among clinics and improved patient access and would likely improve the closing rates of the referral loop. However, the capacity of primary healthcare centers does not appear to be enough to satisfy the demands of the population. In Jeddah’s Second Cluster–Jeddah city, the population density varies significantly between districts, with services concentrated in some highly populated areas. It is anticipated that the findings of this single site implementing the Model of Care will be explored further at other hospital complexes within Saudi Arabia, to enhance Model of Care refinement and success.29 0Item Restricted A Constructivist, Mobile and Principled Approach to the Learning and Teaching of Programming(Saudi Digital Library) WAFAA ADNAN O ALSAGGAF; 10008938733 0Item Restricted A Context-aware Navigational Autonomy Aid for the Blind (NAAB)(Saudi Digital Library) SALEH AHMED M ALGHAMDI; Dr Ron van Schyndel0 0Item Restricted A Critical Discourse Analysis of Aljazeera’s and the BCC’s Online Coverage of The Arab Spring in Arabic and English March 15 to April 16, 2011(Saudi Digital Library) AHMED IBRAHIM MOHAMMED ALSALAMI; Prof. Raymond Chakhachiro7 0Item Restricted A critical qualitative study of inclusive education in Saudi Arabia(Saudi Digital Library, 2023-05-05) Alrudayni, May Abdulaziz; Alrudayni, May AbdulazizIn 2016, the Saudi Arabia Ministry of Education released an inclusive education initiative with the aim of shifting the education system away from exclusion towards inclusion. This initiative resulted in the development of an inclusive education policy and the implementation of an inclusive approach that was piloted in a number of schools in Saudi Arabia. The current study investigates this movement by scrutinizing the educational policies and the inclusive approach implemented in schools. This thesis examines how educational discourse and practice have changed in Saudi Arabia as a result of the country’s move towards inclusion, particularly in relation to students with disability. The research aims to critically investigate the Saudi Arabian inclusive education approach to students with disability in relation to historical, cultural, political and social factors and the international context. The study adopts a critical qualitative position towards Saudi Arabia’s inclusive education to investigate issues in education tied to power and privilege. A post-structural discourse analysis was employed to analyse governmental policies and interviews undertaken with key stakeholders in inclusive education in Saudi Arabia. Inclusive Education Theory (Slee, 2011, 2018) was the main theory applied in this research supplemented by Critical Disability Theory (Goodley, 2011, 2017). Both were utilised as a means to conceptualise, interpret and think analytically about the ways in which power maintains exclusion within Saudi Arabia’s education. The study's findings highlight that while educational policy language in Saudi Arabia has changed to some extent within the global push for inclusive education, practice in schools seems to fall well short of reforms beyond increasing enrolment numbers of students with disability. The findings suggest that the potential of inclusive education in Saudi Arabia is contested and undermined by a raft of political, ideological and cultural forces. It is hoped that the findings of this study will contribute to a better understanding of inclusive education policy enactment and the reconceptualization of inclusive practices for students with disability in Saudi Arabia.98 0Item Restricted A Cross-country Study of Stakeholder Pressure on Oil and Gas companies’ Environmental Performance and Disclosures(RMIT University, 2024-06-25) Alomar, Tareq; Khan, TehminaThe oil and gas industry is a vital aspect of the global economy and is considered the main economic resource in many countries. However, this industry is responsible for numerous environmental issues, such as global warming, air pollution, hazardous discharges and catastrophic environmental events. These environmental issues have put pressure on oil and gas companies to be more environmentally responsible. The aim of this study is to investigate the impact of stakeholder pressure on voluntary environmental disclosures (VEDs) and environmental performance (EP) in oil and gas companies. It will employ stakeholder theory and the new institutional perspective of institutional theory to do the analysis. The research is a cross-country study in two phases. The first phase is a quantitative content analysis to investigate the impact of governmental environmental policies, board size, company size, and company leverage on the VEDs of 189 companies for 2019-2020 from 14 of the top oil producing countries in. Multiple regression was used in this stage to investigate the impact of independent variables on VEDs. The second phase is a questionnaire survey. Primary data is collected to investigate the impact of pressure from governments, customers, NGOs, shareholders, employees, and the pandemic on EP. The participants of the survey are managers and high-level employees linked to environmental practices of oil and gas companies. Structural equation modelling (SEM) was used to link the factors with the dependent variable (EP). The findings of the study will reveal that company size and board size have a significant positive impact on VEDs. Also, there has been a significant increase in oil and gas company 2 VEDs in 2020 compared to 2019. However, it would appear that governmental environmental policies, leverage, and profitability have a statistically insignificant influence on VEDs. On the other hand, governmental pressure, customer pressure and employee pressure have a significant positive effect on the EP of oil and gas companies. Pressure from NGOs, shareholders and the pandemic is statistically insignificant. This research contributes knowledge about voluntary environmental disclosures and environmental performance, specifically in the global oil and gas industry. Also, it contributes to a better understanding of the role of stakeholder group pressure and their impact on environmental practices and disclosure in this industry. This study also investigates the impact of the pandemic on environmental practices in the oil and gas industry. This study is one of the first academic studies to consider the pandemic's impact on the oil and gas industry’s VEDs and EP. Lastly, it provides an example of combining stakeholder theory and institutional theory to investigate the impact of stakeholders on a firm’s environmental performance and disclosure.13 0Item Restricted A Cross-cultural study of the speech act of apology by Saudi and Australian Female(Saudi Digital Library) Shatha, Ahmed Ali4 0Item Restricted A cross-sectional descriptive analysis of dental treatment under general anaesthesia in hospitalised Western Australian children from 2018 - 2019(Saudi Digital Library) YOSEF FARAJ AMER ALSHEHRI; Associate Professor Estie Krugerنبذة مختصرة A cross-sectional descriptive analysis of dental treatment under general anaesthesia in hospitalised Western Australian children from2018 - 2019 حتى الآن تم إجراء القليل من الأبحاث بشكل شامل يقوم بتحليل علاج الأسنان تحت التخدير العام في مستشفى بيرث للأطفال في حالات طوارئ الأسنان. 2 0Item Restricted A CSCL SCRIPT-BASED TECHNOLOGICAL ENVIRONMENT TO SUPPORT COLLABORATION IN PROJECT-BASED LEARNING(Saudi Digital Library) NADA MUHAYA MASAD ALHARBI; Rukshan Athauda0 0Item Restricted A cultural-historical study on English speech development of Saudi students through investigating EFL teaching strategies in primary schools(Saudi Digital Library) WALAA ESMAIL HUSSAIN MANDILI; Nikolai Veresov15 0
