Item Restricted Digitalization in Orphan Care Administration: Guidelines, Challenges, and Critical Success Factors An Interpretive Study(University of Technology Sydney, 2025-05) Alamri, Ziyad Mohammed; Pradhan, SojenDigitalization is an emerging approach in public and nonprofit sector administration. It aims to enhance operational efficiency, streamline administrative tasks, and improve the overall quality of services. As orphan care centers in Saudi Arabia attempt to modernize their management systems, there is a growing need to provide practical digitalization guidelines. These guidelines can assist institutions in transitioning from traditional practices to digitally supported operations. To gain a thorough understanding of digitalization in orphan care administration, the issue must be examined from multiple perspectives, focusing on the following questions: A) How can orphan care centers effectively adopt digitalization?; B) What are the challenges that may hinder this transition?; C) What strategies can address these challenges?; and D) What are the key success factors that support a smooth and ethical digitalization? In response to these gaps in understanding, a qualitative interpretive multi-case study is proposed. The research includes a set of semi-structured interviews with stakeholders from various orphan care institutions. Insights drawn from these interviews inform a set of digitalization guidelines tailored to the unique administrative and ethical needs of orphan care. These guidelines address key elements such as gradual implementation, staff training, ethical data management, and the integration of digital tools without compromising humancentered care. The study not only identifies the administrative and cultural challenges of digitalization in orphan care but also proposes actionable strategies to overcome them. Based on the findings, the most common challenges include resistance to change, financial constraints, data privacy concerns, and the potential loss of human interaction in service delivery. Furthermore, the research highlights critical success factors such as leadership support, stakeholder involvement, sustainable planning, and continuous evaluation. These factors are essential to achieving successful digitalization while maintaining the quality and humanity of orphan care services. This study provides a valuable contribution to the academic literature and practical field. It offers evidence-based guidelines and highlights both the potential and limitations of digitalization in orphan care administration, paving the way for more efficient and compassionate service delivery.16 0Item Restricted Strategic Investment Funds Digital Transformation: Service-Oriented-Architecture Approach(University Colleg London, 2024-08-12) Alaskar, Abdulaziz Abdullah; Zhang, PeipeiThe research projects studied the case of digital transformation within Strategic Investment Funds (SIF) using service orchestration approaches with Service-Oriented-Architecture technology, where the unique financial business model was considered from a systems engineering perspective. The literature review of the research project was conducted with past published material, where past experiences in digital transformation, academic research and technology recommendations were presented, where three main dimensions were identified as follows: 1- Business dimension 2- Technology dimension 3- Social dimension The social dimension was classified as soft systems to incorporate the existing soft systems methodology systems thinking tools. The research data collection was conducted using 1-2-1 online interviews with current strategic investment fund employees, digital transformation project managers, academic researchers and field experts and consultants. The data collection interview questions were split based on the experiences and specializations of the interviewees to account for all the perspectives in the financial ecosystem. The questions were split into: 1- Business operations 2- Technology expert 3- Management 4- Consultation and field experience The results were analyzed to extract empowering factors, as well as identify the current challenges of the field. Soft systems methodology and Seven Samurai models were developed to develop the integration level metrics, digital transformation roadmap and architecture recommendations. Finally, the extracted and analyzed information is summarized into several recommendations for SIF Digital Transformation Projects.19 0Item Restricted A Digital Record System for Heritage Buildings in Saudi Arabia(Lancaster University, 2024) Albouraee, Walaa; Walker, Stuart; Cureton, PaulIn this research, an approach for creating a holistic digital record system that integrates information about the tangible (physical: dimensions, materials) and intangible (cultural: methods, skills, history) aspects of heritage buildings in Saudi Arabia is presented. Many heritage buildings in Saudi Arabia are in poor condition due to negligence and lack of conservation (UNESCO World Heritage Centre, 2020), and the lack of scientific research focusing on the digital recording of heritage buildings' information exposes them to loss. Research, application, and experiments in digital recording of heritage buildings are needed in Saudi Arabia. So, the purpose of this research is to establish a framework to improve the recording process of heritage buildings' data, conserve and promote Saudi's Islamic, Arab, and National heritage locally and internationally, and support Saudi's Vision 2030 in developing recording and scientific research in the field of national heritage (Vision2030.gov.sa, 2020, pp. 2-54). The aim is to establish a new framework for the intense digitalization of heritage buildings in Saudi Arabia as part of a holistic digital platform for voluntary public records. Such a framework and platform are supported through a pragmatic research approach and the use of mixed research methods considering novel fieldwork techniques: laser scanning and digital photogrammetry in combination with documentary research acquired from governmental and private parties. The framework findings resulted in the most holistic digital record system generated in Saudi Arabia recording intangible and tangible information by utilising several digital recording methods, integrating different recording systems, and saving and disseminating the data digitally in an open-access platform. The delivery of this system and the resulting published information highlights the essential research needed regarding technology practical application and system accuracy between Historic Building Information Modelling Systems (HBIMs) and Geographic Information systems (GISs) and developing training skills strategies in using technical tools, data accessibility, acquisition, and processing, and stakeholder interactions with platforms for digital documentation and dissemination, and future management and decision-making.55 0
