Business Simulation: Analyzing the Marketing Executive's Role in Driving Corporate Success
(University of Liverpool, 2024-09) Alsubaie, Lama; Taghizadegan, Ali
The automotive industry has recently experienced a significant shift from ICE- based vehicles to more sustainable alternatives in an effort to protect the environment and mitigate the climate impacts of vehicular emissions. This study explores the simulation environment of the European automotive market in a manner that is as realistic and current as possible. It specifically examines the implementation of various marketing strategies, emphasising the role of the marketing executive in pricing, understanding customers' preferences, targeting specific demographics, and selecting effective advertising channels. Although previous research has investigated effective marketing strategies in the automobile industry, they have rarely considered how these strategies align with specific age groups, mainly focusing on electric and hybrid vehicles. In this simulation, marketing efforts were tailored to appeal to customers aged 41-55, considering factors influencing their purchase decisions and preferences and identifying the most effective advertising channels for this demographic. This targeted approach proved successful, as it has resulted in significant sales achievements and long-term profitability for the company.

    Business Planning
(Bangor University, 2023-08-31) nabhan, Bandar bin; Mather, Carl
For individuals suffering from lower back pain, diabetes, or obesity, custom-made shoes are a crucial necessity. Without them, their health and quality of life can decline significantly. Approximately 25 million people in the UK, which accounts for about 43% of the population, fall into this category. Assuming London’s situation is similar to the general population trend, opening a store in the city could cater to the needs of 3.87 million people while also offering an online version for others. Recent technological advancements such as 3D printing or additive manufacturing and AI can help meet the demand for comfortable, fast, affordable custom-made shoes. The current market for custom-made shoes in the UK and London is driven by small retail stores, brands, or printing shops that cannot provide the customer with the total production of custom shoes, take too much time to make them or lack shoe-making expertise. While online stores can be an alternative, they do not offer an in-person customer experience, often needed for patients with non-standard feet. The company plans to open a 3-D printing custom shoe-made store-factory in London, equipped with eight 3D printers and other necessary equipment to address these issues, as well as an online store, with AI being used to measure the customers’ feet. Investors’ capital and bank loans will cover the company’s expenses. The company will likely generate a positive net profit in the third year of operation, with machinery expenses and loans being fully recovered in the fourth year. The company will increase its total assets and cash flows during its first year of operating, indicating great potential for the business.
