Abstract
This research aims to explore Saudi teachers’ perceptions of children’s moral development. Qualitative research has been applied by using semi-structured interviews with three preschool teachers from Saudi Arabia. They answer questions about their perceptions of children’s moral development and their pedagogical approach to enhancing children’s moral behaviors.
The results of this research show that teachers have different perceptions about morals if they are innate or learned from the environment. However, they agreed on the role of family and school in influencing children’s moral development. Moreover, The teachers agreed on three strategies to enhance children’s moral behaviors which are: good role modeling, storytelling, and positive reinforcement.
