Abstract
Supply chain management is one of the most important fields of interest in this modern
era as it connects people with people and works as the base of all businesses no matter
how small or big it is. This research based project aimed to study how organizational
culture can affect the performance characteristics of a certain supply chain management.
In order to achieve this aim, a set of objectives have been created. The objectives
included creating a literature review with a detailed description of the terminologies
involved in supply chain management and the significance of different cultural dimensions
in different types of supply chain management. The literature review was created through
reviewing past publications which studied the topics at hand. After completing the
literature review, a set of methodologies have been outlined which could be an effective
method to analyze the effect of cultural significance in supply chain management. Upon
completing the methodology, a set of research questions have been created in the form
of a questionnaire and a company was selected for detailed study. The company selected
depended on various criterion and mainly needed a reform in its supply chain
management system. After that, supplier organizations within the company have been
identified and 2 companies performing best and 2 performing worst in terms of supply
chain management have been selected. The questionnaire has been distributed to the
employees of the 5 companies and the results generated were discussed with
suggestions for improvement. The research proposition was evaluated according to the
results generated from the questionnaires.
