Architectural decorations represent symbols that express the identity of a nation in thought and culture. It is a reflection of the social, political, economic, and religious life of peoples, and the buildings were the ancient is a reflection of the nature of the life of the whole population, whether through their homes or palaces.
Such decorations can (and should) be preserved by various means, whether using practical methods such as restoration and redesign, or via a documentation process by redrawing them and merging with other arts.
The importance of the study lies in the fact that considers the decorations used on old palaces, which are distinguished by their wonderful decorations, as there is a general lack of such studies, especially those concerned with the decorations found in palaces where such decorations and/or their details are frequently lost to erosion or, sadly, demolition. It is thus necessary to have some form of reference documenting these decorations and that analyses them. The study concludes with a set of results, the most important of which is that the decorations that were used in palaces are noted to be closely related to the nature of public life, and they express ideas and a taste for beauty, including it carries among its folds symbols that express high taste.
This study recommends that there be a variety of studies, some of which include interest in decorations on the level of important small particles in buildings, adding to the general interest in the entire building, and the further generalization of such a study at the level of all buildings in all countries and ancient historical cities.
