Abstract

This study explores the effects of supply chain management (SCM) practices on the environment within the oil and gas industry in Saudi Arabia. Through utilising questionnaire-based data from various participants, this research highlights the industry's awareness and measures towards environmental sustainability. A majority of the respondents indicated an emphasis on environmental consciousness with numerous companies actively implementing measures to mitigate environmental impacts. The research underscores the significance of innovative technologies in enhancing sustainability in SCM practices. Limitations of the study encompassed its focus on the oil and gas sector and the potential for richer thoughts with mixed methodology. Recommendations encompass the adoption of a circular economy, integration of advanced technologies in SCM, strict environmental regulations and support for companies committing to environmental sustainability. The findings serve as a crucial reference point for policymakers and industry stakeholders in embracing sustainable SCM practices in the oil and gas sector.
