Abstract
This analysis examines the impact of telemedicine on diabetes care during the COVID-19 pandemic. The emphasis of the review is on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the healthcare sector; this includes the pandemic's effects on diabetic patients, medical staff, and the delivery of care. The review also evaluates the role of telemedicine in the delivery of care to diabetes patients during the COVID-19 pandemic; it also explores the overall technology acceptance in the healthcare sector among patients and the industry's workers. This paper focuses on examining the changes in the healthcare processes occasioned by the COVID-19 pandemic's lockdowns, travel restrictions, and curtailed human interaction and mobility. This review also explores the theoretical frameworks that explain the healthcare sector's evolution and shifts regarding telemedicine in diabetes care during the COVID-19 pandemic. Overall, this analysis provides a crucial basis to establish gaps in the literature and gain insight into the trends and patterns shaping the healthcare sector in general, specifically diabetes care, in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.
