dc.description.abstractThe objective of Saudi Arabia's 2030 Vision is to enhance economic diversification and improve the standard of public services and accessibility to opportunities for Saudi citizens. One critical component is developing the education sector to prepare Saudis for the 2030 Vision objectives. This systematic literature review evaluates the influence of Saudi Vision 2030 on higher education in Saudi Arabia, with a specific emphasis on programmes and curricula. The review examines 18 studies selected according to eligibility criteria. Then, utilising Modernisation Theory (Rostow, 1960) as the theoretical framework to investigate the extent to which Saudi higher educational institutions are complying with the transformative goals of Vision 2030. As well as using thematic analysis to present the notable modifications in the Saudi higher education system and its programmes and curricula. It explores the controversy surrounding improving existing programmes and curricula and implementin g new ones that aim to address specific areas of knowledge and skills. The review's findings highlight a strong focus and efforts on promoting Saudi higher education and its programmes, curricula, and sustainability and aligning them with the goals outline d in Vision 2030. The review underscores the pivotal role of Vision 2030 in shaping the current Saudi higher education system and its programmes and curricula. Finally, the review recommends further research into the challenges faced by Saudi education dev elopers, exploring the experiences and perspectives of stakeholders, and utilising comparative studies with successful international higher education systems.
