dc.description.abstract | SUMOylation is a post-translational modification mechanism of proteins. I identified a novel role of SUMOylation in the regulation of focal adhesion proteins during cancer cell migration. I created a mutation in vinculin (FA protein) to prevent its SUMOylation and this mutation caused a significant reduction in the focal adhesions (FA) turnover rate and cancer cell migration. | |
