Abstract

Abstract This study explores the impact of the use of digital stories on children in the kindergarten classroom, and whether there are differences between digital stories and traditional stories in book form. The study in this research was conducted on 20 female teachers in two different kindergartens, one of which is located in the city of Riyadh and the other in Buraidah, both in Saudi Arabia. The questionnaire was used as a single tool for data collection, and it included the use of both quantitative and qualitative approaches in formulating the questions, as it was published through the official work emails of each kindergarten. It was not possible to publish the questionnaire manually, or to use interviews and direct observation due to the circumstances of Covid-19, as well as the continuation of the study online in Saudi Arabia during data collection. The results of this study showed that the participating teachers believe that digital stories have an impact on the education and behaviour of pre-school children, and a small percentage of participants prefer the use of digital stories over traditional stories.
