dc.description.abstract | Introduction: SCRM has emerged as a significant public and government concern for several reasons. Due to the predominantly dry and semi-arid climate of Saudi Arabia, wheat planting in the region is extremely difficult. Purpose: To determine the possible hazards associated with the transportation and storage of wheat, the study scrutinises and assesses the challenges and risks of Saudi Arabia's wheat SC management. Methodology: The analysis uses a qualitative research design focusing on two entities. First, the study employs a systematic literature review examining the effective SCRM practices that can be applied in the Saudi Arabia wheat industry. Secondly, the study uses two case studies, including Manildra Milling Pvt Ltd and Ardent Mills, analysing the efficient SCRM practices. Results: The results show that Saudi Arabia wheat industry has different issues that has caused inefficiency. Effective SCRM in the whet industry entails various factors such as use of technology, proper packaging, incorporation of emerging issues, growth in production and flexibility. Discussion/Implications: The implications demonstrate that Saudi Arabia's wheat industry must apply technology to reduce SC risks. At the same time, the wheat industry should focus on increasing production by outsourcing farmers globally and building good supplier relationships. Conclusion: The analysis shows that Saudi Arabia should introduce various measures including application of technology, partnership, and collaboration between public and private stakeholders to reduce the risks affecting its wheat SC. Similarly, future research should be done on the impact of technology on SCRM in Saudi Arabia's wheat SC. | |
