dc.description.abstractAbstract Leadership Styles of Entrepreneurs in Service Sector SMEs; Evidence from Saudi Arabia Purpose: In today’s dynamic, rapidly advancing, and highly competitive business environment, organisations have realised that they are in dire need of goal-oriented leaders who can bring overall efficiency and improvement in their performance and productivity. As identified by Bennett (2009), globalisation has led the foundation stone of the race among businesses for achieving success and gain a competitive edge to stay ahead of competitors. Methodology: The change in the global business environment led businesses to seek individuals who can effectively lead their determined capabilities and creativity to gain a competitive edge and accomplish their success goals. Accordingly, the need for different leadership styles, which has resulted as an important factor for the overall organisational performance. From this it can be understood that the success of the business is typically associated with its leader’s competency. Thus, organisations need leaders who can blend, merge, and expand their experiences in addition to the targets and needs of the business while leading to knowledge extension, innovative concepts, and variations in business operations. Therefore, considering the importance of leaders in an organisation, this research study will focus on studying the leadership styles of the managers operating in SMEs of Saudi Arabia. Findings: The concluded remarks from the thesis, identified and analysed different factors which can influence SMEs in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The addressed points can be seen as encounters which limit the mangers of the SME’s to advance and expand their business activities in Saudi Arabia. Consequently, future research work should be focused towards how these SMEs can overcome the existing obstacles. These challenges are in very dissimilar areas and each one of them could be resolved in a sensible method.
