Statisticts show that 635000 and 142000 deaths in USA were caused by heart disease and stroke, repspectivel in 2018 in USA. These teriftiying numbers alerted researchers to inspect the risk factors for CVD. Moreover, old people are more vulnerable to risk due to aging. Studies about the effect of dietary fats on CVD in old people are conflicting. Some studies showed that MUFAs increases the risk of having CVD in old people. On the other hand, other evidence showed the opposite. This study is aiming to settle the debate about the effect of fats (Saturated fatty acids (SFAs), trans fatty acids (TFAs), monounsaturated fatty acids (MUFAs), and polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) on the risk of having CVD in old people.
