IMPROVING COMMUNICATION AMONGST STUDENTS
Abstract
The importance of cross-cultural communication is increasing day by day because of the increasingly globalized nature of the world. Today, the exchange of workforce and students taking place across different countries more easily than before. In other words, workplaces and academic institutions have increasingly become multicultural in recent times. Although diversity in workplaces and educational institutions is a good sign, the problems associated with the management of a diverse population should not be neglected. For example, multicultural classrooms face plenty of problems related to effective communication. Westerners and easterners have different cultures and they follow different languages and communication styles. While students from eastern countries and western countries learn together, communication-related problems can occur in classrooms and educational institutions.
The purpose of this study is to learn more about the challenges associated with communication among multicultural students. The study has collected only secondary data because of the prevailing situations related to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. To compensate for the lack of primary data, a lot of secondary data have been collected and analysed as part of this study. The findings of this study will be useful for students and teachers in multicultural classrooms.
