This paper discusses the effect of a Saudi internal dynamic on its foreign policy toward Yemen. The paper focuses on how threats are assessed by Saudi princes as foreign policy executors, as well as how they are assessed by social leaders such as Islamists, and the implications that the interactions between these groups have on Saudi foreign policy. Investigating these two variables, this paper argues that the divergent views held by Saudi princes and social leaders in Yemen and Saudi Arabia undermine the effectiveness of Saudi Arabian foreign policy. Thus, it is necessary to discuss the tense relationship between the Saudi monarchy and the Muslim brotherhood as well as the Saudi’s alternative strategy, which is required for the country to achieve its objectives in Yemen.
