Saudi Cultural Narrative to investigate The Agency of Artificial intelligence
Abstract
My research investigate the agency of Artificial intelligence through the context of Saudi culture. AI and generative art is defined by Galanter (2019) as a computational system that generates creative artworks algorithmically. It raises important questions about the autonomy enjoyed by both artist and system in their work together. I aim to examine different levels of human-machine networks to explore agency and better understand this collaboration.
Machine learning develops from the data fed into the system. I assume that if the AI can be culturally sensitive, it can support the future development of cultural specificity, not just Saudi AI, but all cultures.
My Saudi identity gave me a particular understanding to practice generative art. In doing so, I tried to develop tools and methods to support others to better understand their cultural specificity through creating works of generative art.
