Fault detection strategies in multiphase machines drives

Abstract

This project focuses on detecting open switch faults in the inverter of a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) drive system. These types of faults can distort the motor's currents, make the torque uneven, and sometimes even stop the whole system. That's why indicating them rapidly is so important – it helps keep the motor safe and ensure the drive keeps running smoothly.
