Abstract Introduction: Misuse or non-optimal use of prescription drugs in hospitals has turned out to be a major problem (Tayler, L., 2018). It could result in addiction, overdose, and suboptimal drug use (Chan et al., 2016). Appropriate tracking systems and monitoring in hospitals should be prioritized in order to advance accountability and safety of drugs once they have left pharmacy (Wood, 2015). Method: The prospective service evaluation was conducted in King College Hospital from April to Jun 2019. Data was analysis to evaluate Abusable Drugs Investigational Software (ADIoS) to find out its accuracy and efficiency in identifying drug of abuse problem areas. It included two hepatic wards suppled with diazepam oral tablets 2,5, and 10 mg and Zopiclone 3.75 and 7.5mg and inpatient administered these drugs during study period. Results: The numbers of tablets sent to two hepatices ward according to stock system (ASCRIBE) records was not reflected by ADIoS record. Furthermore, there was huge difference between the numbers of tablets administered to patients in ADIoS record and Electronic Prescribing and Medicine Administration (EPMA). ADIoS did not show the Discrepancy of sent to ward and administered to patients and what was observed and unaccounted for tablets. Conclusion: it is important for health administration to ensure accountability and safety of abusable drugs at a hospital once they have left the pharmacy in order to control cases of diversion. Appropriate tracking systems and monitoring in hospitals should be prioritized in order to advance accountability and safety of drugs once they have left pharmacists.
