This is a systematic review the existing literature of context-sensitive approaches to determine the efficacy of these approaches in treating impaired social communication in adults with TBI. It can be concluded that remediating affected social communication skills in people with TBI using context-sensitive approaches, conducted mainly as group therapy sessions, can lead to improvements. Maintenance of therapy effects for each of the included studies was promising, however, generalization of improvements to everyday social interactions were limited and required further investigations.
