Abstract
This title of the master’s dissertation explores “A Study of Engineering Project Management Practices in the Saudi Military Sector with a Comparative Study of Best Practices in the Commercial Sector and Strategies for Creating and Resolving Obstacles." I selected a topic within my field of work. My aim is to contribute, even if it's just a small part, to solving challenges in managing engineering projects in the military.
The military sector has its own challenges and opportunities. Comparing it to how things work in the commercial sector helps us improve how we manage engineering projects. Drawing from my 13 years of experience in the Engineering Projects Department at the Ministry of Defence.
The primary goal of this research is to investigate engineering project management processes in the military sector in Saudi Arabia and identify opportunities for improvement by comparing and adopting best practices from leading international military organizations. Especially now, we have a wise vision from inspiring leadership that is a 2030 vision.
The examination of engineering project management methodologies in the Saudi military sector offers a thorough investigation of the planning, implementation, and oversight of initiatives in this essential field. This study explores the complexities regarding project lifecycle administration, risk-reducing techniques, and the implementation of modern technology by concentrating on the particular difficulties and approaches to military operations as well as in the government and commercial sectors. This research looks at how engineering project management is really important for military, commercial, and government projects in Saudi Arabia.
It's especially focused on how things are organised in the military compared to commercial and government settings.
Description
The study is not just filling a gap in what we already know; it also fits well with the changes happening in Saudi Arabia and what the researcher is studying. By exploring new ideas about project management in different areas, the research wants to help academics learn more and improve how engineering projects are done in the military, commercial, and public sectors in Saudi Arabia.
