Inverted Modular Multilevel Converter (IMMC) for PV Application
Abstract
With the power generation shifting more from conventional fossil fuel generation to renewable generation communities started utilizing PV Panels by installing it on the roof of their houses or farms but on a small scale of power output. As for the large-scale renewable there has been a lot of plants regarding wind, installed many years ago but as for PV it is seeing more investing as more countries where PV is feasible starting installation in large scale and several of projects. As its use is considered new technology relatively to other power technologies the room for development and innovate is spacious, so for this project the connection between PV and the grid is examined by using inversion of modular multilevel converter (MMC) technology to have the power exit the submodule (SM) feeding the AC source. And using two types of converter as the submodule; boost converter and Dual Active Bridge (DAB) but mainly focuses on DAB. It proposes at the end whether further research is reasonable for inversion the MMC or not and gives some recommendation on how to proceed from here.
