The Reading of translated personal development books in Saudi Arabia is growing, especially among young people approaching or starting employment. Because of this growth, there is an increasing need to investigate and analyse various aspects of translation for this market. One of the aspects is the translation strategies used for idioms since personal development books are loaded with these expressions. Relating idiom translation strategies to the concepts of domestication and foreignization can be an effective method to investigate the predominant strategy. Through a case study of Anthony Robbins’ Awaken the Giant Within (1991) and its Arabic translation أيقظ قواك الخفية , by the publisher Jarir Bookstore, this dissertation explores the predominance of domestication or foreignization as idiom translation strategies.
