Abstract

Introduction Within IT projects, selection of the appropriate team is a critical problem in order to accomplish the milestones and objectives of the project (Kumar, Antony and Cho, 2009). Such purpose knows no bounds as finding the most suitable model of team selection has also been a key challenge for project managers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. This is the main problem acknowledged and investigated under this research. Scope of the Research Project The scope of this research project reaches to IT departments within the private and public sectors in Saudi Arabia, in addition to IT specialised companies within the kingdom in order to ascertain which available team selection model currently fits better with IT projects conducted to meet the project objectives. Aim of the project The key aim of the research project is to determine the suitable model for the purpose of team selection for the accomplishment of IT projects in Saudi Arabia. Objectives • To explore a varied range of available team selection models. • To examine the nature of IT projects in Saudi Arabia and determine the need of team selection in those projects. • To evaluate and analyse the suitable model of team selection for IT projects in the kingdom.
