Evaluation of TQM in the Saudi Aviation industry

Abstract

This dissertation evaluates the extent of TQM implementation on the Saudi Aviation industry and finding the challenges the Saudi Aviation industry is facing in development, specifically having better quality management processes. The problem is that Saudi Aviation has had some issues with safety and poor management of its airport and maintenance of its aircraft. TQM is suggested to be the solution to these issues. It is believed that TQM implementation can aid the Saudi Aviation industry to be a leading Aviation worldwide, which is shown from examples such as British Airways and Delta Air Lines. Through questionnaires and interviews with professionals in the Saudi Aviation industry, it was found that TQM is implemented in some sectors and missing on some other sector. Lack of leadership and work ethic culture in Saudi Aviation industry are the challenges preventing from TQM implementation. This paper also covered TQM principles, its effect in the Aviation industry, and the reasons to implement it in the Saudi Aviation industry.
