Abstract
As part of 2030 vision, Saudi Arabia is undergoing a huge digital transformation, and smart cities play a vital role as a concept and practice to achieve this vision. Address systems have become a crucial infrastructure component in rapidly urbanising cities, significantly impacting daily operations, service delivery, and quality of life. This dissertation explores the development of Riyadh as a smart city to generally examine the city's progress and challenges with key focus on the logistics and addresses systemisation as a case study.
Drawing on national initiatives such as Saudi Vision 2030, the study investigates how Riyadh integrates digital infrastructure, smart governance, and innovative technologies to enhance addresses’ management. The literature review provides theoretical grounding in smart city logistics technologies, while qualitative analysis of the case data offers insight into the practical implementation of these systems.
The findings present notable advancements in technology and geospatial systems, yet highlight persistent challenges including data integration, public engagement, and inter-agency coordination. The study concludes by recommending strategic improvements to support Riyadh’s transformation into a more intelligent and connected city. This research contributes to the growing body of knowledge on smart city development in Saudi Arabia and provides insights for people working on similar initiatives.
