Abstract

We discuss the basic concepts frequently required in the subsequent chapters. The classification of curves as reducible or irreducible is covered. The local properties of plane curves are considered. Next, the intersection of curves and lines or curves are clarified. Then, the intersection numbers are discussed in terms of several substantial properties. We continue with an important theorem which is called the nine associated points. We conclude with a discussion on the intersection points of two curves wherein the Euclid algorithm and Be´zout theorem are used.
