A cross-sectional descriptive study to assess knowledge related to the benefits of and barriers to physical activity for Saudi females in Jeddah
Abstract
Physical activity (PA) remains a public health problem in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, particularly among women, despite the existing policies promoting it. Therefore, it is necessary to consider and understand whether individuals realise the benefits of PA and the barriers that keep them from becoming physically active. This study aims to assess Saudi females’ knowledge of PA, how knowledge of the benefits and perceived barriers to PA affect participation and the most frequently encountered obstacles to PA among Saudi women in Jeddah city based on the results of a questionnaire.
