Abstract
Sustainability has gained critical importance recently, driven by the need to address climate change and the increased environmental awareness resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic, making it essential for organisations to adopt sustainable practices to remain resilient. Embracing these practices also enhances employees’ retention and well-being, fostering a more engaged and committed workforce. Despite this growing interest in sustainability, existing literature lacks examination of the positive impact of Green Human Resource Practices (GHRPs) on Affective Commitment (AC), and Employee Green Behaviour (EGB), and the mediating role of Job Satisfaction (JS). Particularly within the context of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA), under its Vision 2030 framework, which emphasises sustainability. Therefore, this study investigates the influence of GHRPs on employee’s JS, which in turn enhances AC and EGB. Additionally, this study employs a quantitative, comprehensive methodology to collect and analyse the data from 101 participants across various organisations in the KSA, to provide appropriate empirical evidence. The findings reveal a positive relationship between GHRPs, JS, AC, and EGB, highlighting the critical role of JS as a mediator. This research enriches literature on GHRPs and provides insights for researchers and organisations in the KSA that aiming to achieve sustainability goals.
